MarketWatch reported that Walmart is considering buying out a local chain of supermarkets here in Hong Kong. The Park ‘n Shop stores are, generally speaking, convenience stores. There is nothing here like a Walmart, let alone Sam’s Club or Costco. Walmart is one of the things I miss about the US, and I’d be the first one to welcome them to Hong Kong with open arms. Although if I had to choose, I’d rather have a Costco. Especially if they could bring their food court with the $10 pizza here. Mmmm.
If you’re an expat, wherever it happens to be your from, what do you miss from your home country?
