Buffer is an app that allows you to easily schedule your Twitter posts. It has become a necessity for me because I work in two time zones. I work in Hong Kong while I’m awake, since that’s where I live, and I work in the US while I’m sleeping.
But most of my followers are in the US right now, and I want to keep in touch with them. Here’s how I do it using Buffer and Twitter:
- Set my time zone to the US.
- Set my Buffer schedule for times between 6 am and 12 midnight, US time.
- If I want to share with the US, I use Buffer to delay tweets until people in the US are awake. If I want to share with Hong Kong, I tweet immediately (even if I still do it through Buffer).
This way I can filter content that is relevant to Asia/Hong Kong from content that is more relevant to a US audience in a way that’s relatively painless. Better than staying awake 24/7.
Do you work across time zones? How do you stay in touch and still get a good night’s sleep?
